Lessons from the Pump Track
Pump tracks are excellent for developing fundamental MTB skills, particularly those related to momentum and bike handling. Key skills include pumping (using body weight to generate and maintain speed), cornering (executing turns effectively and efficiently), and jumping (both small hops and bigger jumps as you progress). Additionally, pump tracks help improve bike-body separation, weighting and unweighting the bike, and maintaining speed while navigating rollers and berms.
