Location

Kanab, UT

Kanab is a small, picturesque town of just over 5,000 people. Though small in population, Kanab offers big services to adventure seeking tourists. It is the perfect hub spot located between Zion, Bryce, the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, and the Glen Canyon Recreation area which includes Lake Powell, Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon.

Jacob Hamblin Park

This park has it all! The Festival will occupy the West end of the park which features a shade covered pavillion with trees and grass, a concession stand with bathrooms, firepits, grass and a large dirt lot which is an ideal spot for demo bikes, vendors and food trucks. Families will enjoy the pump track, playground, splash pad, volley ball and basketball courts and nearby trails.

The 400-acre Tilted Mesa Trail System consists of three connected mesas and approximately 13 miles of single-track trail designed specifically for mountain biking.

The other trails in this system include Applecross at Clear Creek and Upper Applecross.

The Applecross MTB system lies along North Fork Road, reached on Highway 9 just one mile east of Zion National Park. When complete, there will be around 35 miles of singletrack trail in the system. This page discusses the upper (northernmost) trails, found on the uphill side of the road. Trails range from easy to very difficult. With a top elevation of 6800 feet, the expected riding season will be late May through October.

The New Applecross MTB Trails system was opened in November of 2021, and offers beginners, and intermediate riders a place to progress their skills on smooth, flowy downhill trails, with fast berms, fun jumps, and drops. It also features some beginner and some advanced XC style trails for those looking to get a few extra miles. the climbs are all very flowy, never getting to steep or too skinny. I would highly recommend riding here if you're visiting Zion National Park, if you're looking for some flow trails, or don't have time to go do a 2-3 hr ride on mesas. Built by Zion Mountain Ranch and Clear Creek Ranch on their private property, but open to the public as part of a "Greater Zion" trail system.
